More Lilly pictures

We had the hospital photographer come in and take some pictures before we left on Sunday.  Here are some of the highlights.

She did very well holding still for the pictures.

She really does calm down around Kathryn.

Daddy would have shaved if he knew his face would be in the pictures...

She looks so small in my hands.

Lilly Anne

Friday, March 8th, we were blessed with our second child.  Kathryn called around 4:45PM to make sure that I would not be working late.  By the time I got home at 5:15, I had just enough time for a quick shower before rushing to the hospital.  Its a good thing we live so close, because by the time we made it there, Kathryn was in tears due to the building strength of the contractions.

After the epidural kicked in, she was feeling much better.  Luckily, we didn't have to wait too long before it was baby time.

Lilly Anne Karges made her appearance at 11:14PM.  She weighed 7lbs 3.3oz and was 20 inches long, no far off from her older brother Luke who was 7lbs 3.4oz and 21 inches long.
Lilly and Kathryn's first picture together.

Taking a nap after her first nap.

All four of us together again at the hospital.

A very caring older brother.  He called her Tiger or Coco-Tiger before she was born.  Now he does use her name or "My baby" when talking about Lilly.

Luke loves to sing

Three posts in one day!  What?!?  That probably just means it will be three times as long until I get on here again...I just sayin...

You will notice in both of the videos that Luke is not wearing any pants.  We are have been actively potty training and it is much easier to rush to the bathroom when you don't have to take off pants first.  He has been doing very well and we are almost accident free!  I think we only had two this past week.

I got to thinking that I forgot to post Luke's songs.  He has been very vocal lately.  I apologize about how these were shot.  Videos taken in the portrait setting are one of my largest pet peeves.

Apparently they have changed the lyrics to this classic.  You no longer row down the stream but down the street...

Houston Zoo

Looks like you're lucky and get two posts on the same day!

Kathryn has been very busy lately with trying to get her practice going.  Luke and her...really all of us needed to get out and spend some good family time together.  We are members of the Houston Zoo and decided it had been a little too long since our last visit.  Here are some highlights:

I get sick going around in circles so I was happy to play cameraman on for this portion.  I think they both had a good time.

We spent some time at the giraffe exhibit and got really close to the ostriches too.  You can see him peering over the fence at Luke.

These animals are massive.  They say not to turn your backs on them.  Apparently Luke was listening but not Kathryn =).

Luke didn't like waiting in line...

But it was worth the wait!  He wasn't scared at all!  We've been trying to get him up there for quite some time but he always backed out before today.

That was five dollars well spent.

Well, I cannot guarantee when the next post will be based on my history, but hope this holds you over for a while.

Organization

A new post...a year and a half later!  No promises on when the next one will come about...

We've been busy preparing for our daughters' arrival and trying to keep up with Luke.

We started with some basic closet organization.  This is the before picture.
And here is the after picture.  This was a fun project for me since I love keeping the house organized.  This closet is extremely small and we were not able to use it as efficiently as possible.  I had hoped to put sliding drawers in the closet instead of the shelves, but that could not be done without removing the door and putting it where the hinges were on the left instead of the right...not too difficult but not how I want to spend my time.

This project was done just before Luke's twin bed with trundle arrived.  I just found out that I don't have any pictures of that yet but he is busy napping on the bed right now so you'll just have to use your imagination.

The room is not tightly packed with a bed, a crib, lots of toys and a dresser.  All of his books and his giraffe have been relocated to the living room.
