Luke loves to sing

Three posts in one day!  What?!?  That probably just means it will be three times as long until I get on here again...I just sayin...

You will notice in both of the videos that Luke is not wearing any pants.  We are have been actively potty training and it is much easier to rush to the bathroom when you don't have to take off pants first.  He has been doing very well and we are almost accident free!  I think we only had two this past week.

I got to thinking that I forgot to post Luke's songs.  He has been very vocal lately.  I apologize about how these were shot.  Videos taken in the portrait setting are one of my largest pet peeves.

Apparently they have changed the lyrics to this classic.  You no longer row down the stream but down the street...

Houston Zoo

Looks like you're lucky and get two posts on the same day!

Kathryn has been very busy lately with trying to get her practice going.  Luke and her...really all of us needed to get out and spend some good family time together.  We are members of the Houston Zoo and decided it had been a little too long since our last visit.  Here are some highlights:

I get sick going around in circles so I was happy to play cameraman on for this portion.  I think they both had a good time.

We spent some time at the giraffe exhibit and got really close to the ostriches too.  You can see him peering over the fence at Luke.

These animals are massive.  They say not to turn your backs on them.  Apparently Luke was listening but not Kathryn =).

Luke didn't like waiting in line...

But it was worth the wait!  He wasn't scared at all!  We've been trying to get him up there for quite some time but he always backed out before today.

That was five dollars well spent.

Well, I cannot guarantee when the next post will be based on my history, but hope this holds you over for a while.

Organization

A new post...a year and a half later!  No promises on when the next one will come about...

We've been busy preparing for our daughters' arrival and trying to keep up with Luke.

We started with some basic closet organization.  This is the before picture.
And here is the after picture.  This was a fun project for me since I love keeping the house organized.  This closet is extremely small and we were not able to use it as efficiently as possible.  I had hoped to put sliding drawers in the closet instead of the shelves, but that could not be done without removing the door and putting it where the hinges were on the left instead of the right...not too difficult but not how I want to spend my time.

This project was done just before Luke's twin bed with trundle arrived.  I just found out that I don't have any pictures of that yet but he is busy napping on the bed right now so you'll just have to use your imagination.

The room is not tightly packed with a bed, a crib, lots of toys and a dresser.  All of his books and his giraffe have been relocated to the living room.

Somewhere in middle America...

I know it has been an excessive amount of time sine I last posted something on here.  I keep meaning too update this page, but I always seem to get distracted.

In a quick recap, we have been quite busy since my last post.  In July, we moved to Omaha, NE for a one year stint.  It has been good so far and we have found that the people in the mid-west are extremely friendly.  Kathryn is doing a one year fellowship and I am working from home (same job from Houston, just a different setting).

Luke has been busy too.  He had been the recipient of way too many ear infections and as a result got tubes put into his ears to help with the drainage.  We were told that the problem would go away with a slight possibility of requiring a second set of tubes in a year or so.

Well, three weeks after the tubes were put in, Luke got another ear infection.  So, that has been lots of fun.  Anyhow, we are almost done with this round of antibiotics and we hope that we won't be needing anymore in the near future.

Here are a few photos taken recently.

Luke is already fitting in here...

Finally another update.

I do realize that it has been a while since I posted.  It is very hard to get anything done.  Anyhow, here is an update in chronological order.  The last picture was taken yesterday when Luke turned 6 months.

OK, so it has been a little while since we updated.  As many of you know, Luke was born on April 26th.  Although we already have tons of photos, I do not have the luxury of time to upload everything.  Here are some highlights from the past 5 weeks.  He is growing up quick!
